Counter tops are an important part of our home décor. We usually do not want to think about our counter tops, because that usually means something is wrong. Counter tops can be made of wood, steel, concrete, tile, or just about anything our minds can imagine. However, the most common counter top is universally the one you chose for that specific job. Bar counter tops are usually for small bars you may have at home. These may be suitable for the whole neighborhood, or just for you and a couple close friends.
Bar counter tops come in various designs and shapes and materials to fit the user.
1. Wooden bar counter tops. These are by far the most beautiful, elegant and sophisticated counter top today. Wood is extremely versatile and can be purchased in any tone to please the client. Of course, asking the client what he or she wants is the first step to the perfect counter top. There are so many types of wood that the price for this type of counter top will range according to the type of wood you choose. Mahogany wood is going to be a lot more expensive than pressed wood. However pressed wood will be least expensive.
2. Concrete bar counter tops. These are quickly coming into there own. Indeed, this is made of concrete. However, the finish is not the course sidewalk finish you are used to. Indeed, you get a lot of options when choosing this material for your counter tops. Did you know that concrete can come in various colors and shades? I will admit that I was more than a little astonished when I found out. Concrete will last forever if it is done right.
3. Stainless steel bar counter tops. Whenever I see this type of counter top, I think of school cafeterias. However, the counter tops are amazing. They are shiny; they are sanitary; they are not easily destroyed. These counter tops are an excellent choice for many, but I do not like this material solely by itself. When added with other counter tops, these ones are not quite so hideous in my eye.
Bar counter tops serve a special purpose though. They make a piece of our home completely functional into itself. Any bar I have ever seen is like a mini-kitchen all jammed into a small space. What you choose for your counter top will need to be functional, versatile, and look amazing.
You can get bar counter tops at quite a few specialty shops and home décor shops. On occasion, some hardware stores may carry a small selection of these. Of course, you can usually ask and sometimes can preorder the counter top that is perfect for you. Not happy with what you see? Not finding that perfect fitting one? Maybe you shoulder try making a special order. These orders usually differ slightly and it is easy to make adjustments. However, the more difficult the adjustment, the more expensive the price.
