Remodel With Contour Countertops

Both builders and home owners that are remodeling had jumped on the bandwagon of using Contour countertops. And rightly so because here is a manufacturer that knows everything there is to know about counters.

Contour Countertops have been operating in Puget Sound since 1957 and they are world renown for their reliability and professionalism, and of course for their selection of laminate, quartz, and granite countertops. And these days granite continues to grow in popularity.

Homeowners recognize the warmth and beauty of granite. Combine that with the aesthetic appeal, durability, and affordability and you’ve got a win-win situation.

Now although granite might not be the cheapest alternative you need to consider the life expectancy and the wearability. Never again will you be considering what type of counters you need. Granite will give you a lifetime of wearing. And it will also help increase the value of your home.

Like marble and other stone granite is as old as earth itself and is found throughout the world. Granite has been used in ancient societies and it is often used to construct temples and other public buildings. Today it is still used to build columns and pillars as well as on the exterior of public and government buildings.

Granite was first polished back in 1931 and by 1851 it became quite popular to polish. And of course in our modern world polished granite remains popular.

For countertops granite is the most popular of all the stones because of its hardiness. In fact it’s as hard as diamonds so there is no question about not only the versatility but its durability. And with granite you don’t have to worry about placing that hot pot on the counter or scratching and scuffing. And it always looks great!

Granite looks good in all kitchens but it looks exceptional in a French kitchen or Traditional Country kitchen. And it looks amazing in a contemporary modern kitchen!

And no longer is granite available in just the more traditional colors. Now you’ve got choices! Reds, browns, blues, blacks, greens, and more. Combine that with variations in tone and pattern and your choices are truly endless.

Browns and beiges tend to be the most popular followed by black. Larger patterns quickly grab your eye while smaller patterns are more calming and seductive. If your room is small stay away from the larger patterns.

Now granite isn’t without it’s concerns. After all there really is no perfect product on the market. Granite needs regular attention and care that goes beyond the standard cleaning. It must have the proper sealants placed on it at least twice a year and perhaps more often. This sealant stops stains from occurring.

Granite can also be chipped or scratched. In these cases you will need to consult with a professional for repairs. The good news is it can be repaired so no one will ever know. It’s best never to cut directly on your granite counters, instead use a complimentary cutting board.

Granite costs more than some other countertops, starting at around $50 a square foot plus installation. Granite is not recommended for the do it yourself home handyman. This is a material that requires precise cutting tools and skills to get the perfect fit and at the cost you don’t want to be messing up!

So whether you are building or remodeling choose Contour countertops to provide you with quality kitchen counters. Isn’t it time to start shopping?
